About Gwerin
Gwerin Y Gŵyr (Welsh: The Folk of Gower) is a local group of Regia Angolrum (Latin: The Kingdoms of the English-speaking people). We mainly cover the Swansea Valley area in terms of membership, but these days our members are spread throughout Wales. We're an Early Medieval re-enactment group who mainly portray Norse/Danish "Viking" peoples and Cymry culture between 850-1250. While many of our members focus mainly on the combat side of our hobby, many of us also enjoy a wide range of historical crafts.

The Medieval world ran of crafts, and our society is no different. From embroidery, to woodworking, to smithing, to music, whatever our area of interest we likely have someone within the society you'd be happy to help you further your skill, or maybe you can fill a gap in the market!
Why not try your hand at our combat system that focuses on providing safe, dynamic battles, that even we don't know the outcome of! Our combat is a contact sport with real, blunted weapons designed to look and feel like their historical counterparts, while allowing you come return to your family after the battle.
